The short answer is, yes. So go ahead and order that thing you were looking at.
For context, I was looking for a very specific power bank. An Anker Prime high capacity one. I couldn’t find anywhere that would ship it to me in Ireland for a reasonable price. So I sat on it for a while. I came across Gomiibo who seemed to be selling it for around 30-60euro less than the likes of Harvey Norman, Amazon etc, and had one in stock, AND to sweeten the deal even more, offered (free) next day delivery with UPS.
So I looked up Trustpilot, Reddit, Boards.ie etc, and felt confident enough to order. Later that evening I got a tracking number, sure enough, my order was shipped and on it’s way to Ireland with UPS. It got to ‘Finglas’ and next morning was ‘Out for delivery’.
Fast forward ten days later, my item had not arrived and I was beginning to wonder if UPS were just incompetent here, my item was stolen or lost, or that Gomiibo maybe wasn’t entirely legit and I had been scammed, maybe?
It eventually got sorted out via their customer service (which are generally pretty good). But I was asked to sign a form stating that I had not received the item, so did my partner and my son have to also sign this form. And provide scanned copies of my ID, which felt a bit dodgy. I also had to raise an issue with UPS for them to begin their own investigation, which took..time.
Eventually, maybe a week or two after that, Gomiibo contacted me to let me know that they were sending a replacement as my original item had been lost. I asked for it to be shipped with DPD instead, and it arrived, as described, so happy days! I’ve since bought a couple more items from them (Nothing ear buds, which I love). So go ahead, buy the thing.
