iPhone Duo Clicking Sound When Folding Shut

I got an iPhone Duo (on launch day). 512GB, Night Sky. Lovely device. I am having one issue, though. When folding the Duo shut, there’s a click sound coming from the hinge, behind the screen. It happens every time I fold it shut and it’s getting louder by the day.

The weird part is, if you open and close the device (folding and unfolding) multiple times in a row, the sound gets a little quieter. But leave it alone for a moment before trying again and it comes right back, loud as ever.

It’s concerning, given it’s getting louder and seeing reports of Duos online with cracked screens doesn’t give me confidence that the same fate won’t come to mine.

I am getting in touch with Apple for a warranty replacement, but knowing how the Duo is in short supply right now, I’m hesitant to let it go until they are more readily available. Applecare it is, then. For now.
